2021 Chrysler Pacifica: What’s New?

By Justin Cupler | April 2nd, 2020

The Chrysler Pacifica is refreshed for 2021, bringing in a new look, all-new tech, a new powertrain, and so much more. Here’s what our Jacksonville area shoppers can expect when the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica hits the Garber Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM showroom.

Refreshed Look

The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica starts with a refreshed look. Up front, the Pacifica boasts an all-new nose that includes a larger and bolder grille with a 3D diamond-style insert, smaller headlights with standard LED tech, a new bumper, and more. There’s also a revised rear bumper with deeper fog light housings and liquid chrome Chrysler wing badges with high-gloss-black inserts.

Around back, the 2021 Pacifica boasts all-new LED taillights that include one full-width lower light bar and a split upper light bar.

Six new wheel designs help round out the new-look Pacifica. They include 20-inch polished units with Baltic Gray pockets, 20-inch machined-face wheels with Baltic Gray pockets and a new Foreshadow finish, 18-inch full-polish rollers with a Foreshadow” finish, 18-inch fine-silver-painted rollers, 18-inch polished wheels a Foreshadow finish, and 18-inch polished wheels with Baltic Gray pockets.

The S Appearance package continues in 2021, but it gains new Anodized Ink finishes on the grille surrounds and badging and new Foreshadow-finished wheels.

Luxurious Pacifica Pinnacle Debuts

At the top of its range, the 2021 Pacifica gains an all-new Pinnacle model. This range-topping trim boasts the most luxurious cabin in the segment. It includes an available integrated Ultra Center Console with accent stitching, a larger armrest, and dual-level storage that offers about a half a cubic foot of space.

This premium model also adds upscale materials, including a Caramel and Piano Black color theme with Caramel Nappa leather upholstery, quilted seat bolsters, Light Tungsten piping and stitching, and perforated inserts. It also boasts second-row captains chairs for superior rear-seat comfort.

The dashboard has plenty of style to match the special seating, including a mid-century Timber Hydro bezel with distinct wood styling and a piano-black center console bezel. The seat controls receive satin-chrome plating accents while the headliner boasts black suede and the floor mats come in Berber.

Safety Is Now Standard

The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica also takes a huge step forward in keeping its occupants safe with a long list of standard advanced safety equipment, including:

  •       Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking
  •       Forward collision warning
  •       Adaptive cruise control with stop and go
  •       LaneSense lane-departure warning-plus with lane-keep assist
  •       Rain-sensing wipers
  •       Automatic high beams
  •       Advanced brake assist
  •       Laminated glass
  •       Passenger-side small-offset rigid barrier
  •       LED Headlights
  •       Mirror-integrated turn signals
  •       LED fog lights
  •       Third-row lock out

On top of this array of standard safety gear, the 2021 Pacifica also offers a handful of optional safety bits to enhance your peace of mind further. These options include a 360-degree camera, parallel and perpendicular park assist, and front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking.

All-New Uconnect 5 Infotainment

Safety tech is great, but the entertainment tech is more… well, entertaining. The 2021 Pacifica will mark the North American debut of the all-new Uconnect 5 infotainment system.

This system not only processes information over five times faster than the previous system, but it also boasts a standard 10.1-inch touchscreen that’s 20% larger than the screen it replaces and the largest standard touchscreen in the class.

The Uconnect 5 infotainment system also offers the latest in connected services and features. This includes a Uconnect skill for Alexa to lock or unlock the doors and start the vehicle; Alexa streaming audio; multi-connect Bluetooth® that allows you to connect multiple devices; Tom-Tom navigation with Maps Over The Air; SiriusXM® with 360L; wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™; over-the-air updates; a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot; and more.

Updated Interior Tech

Beyond the all-new Uconnect  5 infotainment system, the 2021 Pacifica gains even more tech inside to make your commute or road trip more enjoyable.

It all starts with a new FamCAM that projects a high-definition look at the rear passengers on the infotainment touchscreen. It also offers a zoom-to-seat function that allows a clear look at each seat, even a rear-facing infant seat.

USB ports are just a part of today’s connected life, and the 2021 Pacifica has plenty of them. It comes with up to 12 USB ports, including segment-exclusive Type-C ports that charge up to four times quicker. Don’t want to fuss with cables? The console in the Pinnacle and Limited trims include wireless charging pads.

All-Wheel Drive Arrives

The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica will become the second minivan in the class to offer optional all-wheel driver starting in the second quarter of 2020. The Pacifica’s all-wheel-drive system uses electronic and mechanical tech to deliver grip when you need it and maximize fuel economy when you don’t.

This system uses a Power Transfer Unit to transfer power to the Rear Drive Module that manages torque to the rear wheels. All-wheel drive kicks in only when you accelerate or in other conditions that may require additional traction, including:

  •       Cold exterior temperature
  •       Use of windshield wipers
  •       Front wheel slip
  •       Heavy acceleration at certain vehicle speeds
  •       Electronic stability control activation
  •       Abrupt steering or sudden throttle inputs
  •       Rough road conditions/grades

When none of these conditions exist, the all-wheel-drive system disconnects to maximize fuel efficiency. All-wheel drive will be available in all four trims: Touring, Touring L, Limited, and Pinnacle.

Arriving in Q2 2020

The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica AWD Launch Edition will be available for order in the second quarter of 2020 and deliveries will start late in the second quarter. The Full 2021 Pacifica lineup will be available for order starting in the third quarter of 2020. Deliveries will begin in the fourth quarter.
