Jeep brings Christmas a little early this year with the introduction of the all-new Grand Cherokee L. A three-row variant to the renown Grand Cherokee nameplate.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee’s origins date back almost 30 years where it began a long lineage as one of the most awarded SUVs in history. This generation’s all-new Grand Cherokee L draws inspiration from Jeep’s first full-size SUV, the Wagoneer.
See how the Jeep team brought a luxurious, modern look to the all-new Grand Cherokee L, while maintaining that classic Jeep feel:
An Extra Row and Extra Capable
The Grand Cherokee L may have added extra seating, but it can still get down and dirty.
The all-new Grand Cherokee L comes standard with an all-aluminum 3.6-liter Pentastar® V-6 engine that cranks out 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and offers a 6,200-pound max towing capacity. Its brute strength is met with thoughtful fuel economy with an EPA-estimated 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway for rear-wheel-drive models with a class-leading driving range of nearly 500 miles.
Want more power? Opt for the award-winning 5.7-liter V-8 engine with 357 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque and a class-leading 7,200-pound max towing capacity.
Independent front and rear suspensions work alongside a class-exclusive Quadra-Lift air suspension with electronic adaptive damping for that classic Jeep off-road capability.
Watch how the Jeep Grand Cherokee L conquers whatever you throw at it:
An Equally Capable Interior
The all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee L is kind of like a mullet. Business on the inside and party on the outside. You just saw how impressively it performs — the back of the mullet. Now it’s time for the business side of things. Its shockingly sharp interior.
Its entire seating structure is brand-new to offer optimal comfort for all passengers.
Front- and second-row passengers enjoy heated and ventilated seats with standard three-tier configurable controls to personalize their ride. Captain’s chairs offer class-leading legroom in the second row and have an available center console for those in the third row.
Both back row occupants enjoy a class-leading 12 USB Type A and Type C ports. They’ll also appreciate Jeep’s first-ever second- and third-row pillar air vents that deliver the Grand Cherokee L’s four-zone automatic temperature settings better than overhead vents.
And no matter where you choose to sit, the Grand Cherokee L provides best-in-class side-window visibility.
Experience the beauty and capability of the Grand Cherokee L’s interior:
Safety Like No Other
Just like the Grand Cherokee’s capability and interior, its safety features come to impress with over 110 available.
- Standard safety functions for every trim level include:
- Forward-Collision Alert with Automatic Emergency Braking
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist
- Blind-Spot Monitoring
- Rearview camera with rear cross-traffic alert and rear park assist
- Jeep also punches its ticket for the autonomous driving train with the Grand Cherokee L’s hands-free driving assist tech that will be available in later models. This notable upgrade will offer a hands-free driving experience at all speeds on approved roadways.
And Tech to Boot
The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L houses plenty of tech for everyone.
An available rear-seat monitoring camera system projects a best-in-class, high-definition image to the 10.1-inch touchscreen and gives the front-row passenger a slew of segment-exclusive features like a zoom-to-seat function to keep an eye on everything happening behind them.
Making its automotive debut with Jeep, the McIntosh® audio system bumps high-performance sound thanks to 19 speakers, a 17-channel, 950-watt amplifier, and a 10-inch subwoofer.
Take a look at the Grand Cherokee L’s tech in depth:
Proudly Assembled in Michigan
The all-new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is being produced at the new Detroit Assembly Complex. The Mack plant added 3,850 new jobs and marks the city’s first new manufacturing facility in almost three decades.
Keep your eyes peeled because the all-new three-row Grand Cherokee L goes on sale this month. Pricing starts as low as $36,995 for the Laredo trim and gets up to $65,290 for the Summit Reserve trim.
If you love the Grand Cherokee nameplate but don’t need the three rows, expect a two-row Grand Cherokee to drop this fall. And if you’re someone who appreciates electric, hold out just a little bit longer too, as Jeep is planning a plug-in hybrid version of the Grand Cherokee L.
